Also because I feel like this blog is getting way too gloomy to my liking, after all those posts filled with my rants towards the controlling society nowadays.
Okay, let's get into this baby.
This Wild Life is an acoustic band (or duo?) filled with two of the most hardcore-looking dudes you'd ever lay your eyes on, but don't get them wrong. All their songs are so soft and delicate, it either makes you want to cuddle the night with someone or cry yourself to sleep, there is no in between. Someone on my Path listened to them and I, being the most thirsty music hoe that I am, searched them up on youtube and was forever grateful after it. How big of a coincidence was it that not long (like, probably 2-3 days?) after I discovered them, a promotor decided to bring them into Indonesia for a gig?
I wasn't as hyped up as to when I found out, but being someone who craved for concerts like a werewolf who craved to go all wolf on the full-moon, it was something that I immediately knew I need to attend. I then decided to influence my friend slash concert buddy to listen to them and she immediately decided that she'd watch it with me.
D-day was on the 18th February 2015. It was a Wednesday, another ordinary school day. Not exactly ordinary, because after school, the whole twelfth graders are supposed to gather around to celebrate our anniversary. I, as one of the committees for the yearbook, was obligated to be there throughout the whole event and to help around. So, I did what I had to do. I worked, decorated the school field for the event, and et cetera. The pain in the ass that I had to go through that day was that we needed to form this logo for the early pages of the yearbook and coordinating my fellow students to form it took forever and half an hour. A lot of shoutings happened, people complaining that it was hot, just a cherry on top of the misery that we had to go through that day.
I turn into the most paranoid asshole when it comes to concerts. The door was supposed to be opened at like 19.00, my usual concert buddy (the one I often call my 'big sister' in older posts) was already on the spot, constantly giving me updates of what was happening. I became a wreck because I haven't gotten home yet, it was already like 17.45 and things haven't even finished up. I do remember that on that exact day, my mom and brother were coming to visit me, so it was a bit of stress-reliever, seeing my baby bro after such a long time. I ended up dragging him along with me everywhere I go inside the school, just because. By the time it reached 18.00, I finally was on the way back home, I bolted to my room, clean myself and all, then I picked my friend that wanted to go along with me up.
Then we got stuck in a continuous, long, hell-bound traffic jam. God, don't I love Jakarta. Do know that the tickets that my friend and I bought were meet-and-greet tickets, and the promotor did say that the meet and greet will be held BEFORE the gig started. I was full-on panicking, I couldn't stop shifting and fidgeting on my seat. My friend then told me to contact the promotor first, simply to ask exactly when the meet and greet will be held and inform them that we got stuck in traffic. Not long after, my big sister finally texted back and said that the meet and greet will be held after the show, resulting in my friend and I screaming in excitement inside the car, in the middle of Jakarta's beloved traffic jam, while my mum was full on judging us.
We finally got to the venue, then we immediately went to get our tickets. Arriving to the ticket counter and switching our vouchers for the tickets, I remember one of the guys saying, "there they are, finally, the last two meet and greet ticket holders," while giving us the tickets and I did spot that they were indeed giving out the last two papers on the table. In conclusion, they freaking postponed the meet and greet for us because we were stuck in traffic. To say that I was grateful would be an understatement.
We finally got inside the place--it was an indoor concert venue--and was immediately greeted by my big sister and her friends whom already booked us a spot as close to the stage. There were no barriers, but we were asked to stand a few feet away from the stage. Despite getting in late (than the others) and being stuck in a traffic jam with killer pain that I was having after the school event thing-y, I still managed to get a front row and I think it's safe to say that I was loving life.
When they did finally come out and play, though... Everything was perfect. They were perfect. I don't know how to put it in words, but they were on point. Every song that they played was exactly just like how they recorded it in their album--or possibly even better. I suck at explaining shows, so I'll just let the videos do it for you.
After the show, we were asked to clear the area for the meet and greet, so we did exactly that. The place of the venue was familiar to me, because not far from it was the place where my dad and I would usually go to watch Liverpool with the other Liverpool fans, so going around the place was no biggie for me. I went to the 7-11 next to the building and got my fuel consisting of caffeine and nicotine, because I was feeling the signs of my body getting worn-out. After a few minutes, the meet-and-greet-ticket holders were let in and we queued up to take photos with Kevin and Anthony and whatnots.
It was a proper meet and greet that I very much enjoyed. They actually let us talk to them, hug them, ask selfies and give them things. I brought my sketchbook with something that I doodled, saying 'Semangat UN-nya, @Regitatae!' for them to sign, and when I explained what it means to the both of them, they replied with: "You're practically asking two guys who never studied in their lives to sign you something to encourage you to study? Makes sense." and then they chuckled. IT WAS SO CUTE, OKAY.
I also got to talk to them about how I found out about then and how good their music are, asked each of them for a hug and then continued to let the other fans talk to them.
Right after all the fans got to literally meet and greet them, we then took a group photo which... went a bit chaotic, resulting in both Kevin and Anthony having to scoop up to be in the photo because of how many people there were. (I'd attach the photo if only I could actually find it.)
After that, we all scattered to take more selfies with the both of them and I chose to go up to them and record them for snapchat, and both of them mistook it as a request for selfies.

| What I brought home that day. (Yes, the poster was also given from the promoters. Good lads.) |
It's safe to say that the 18th of February 2015 was a well-spent night. A great show with amazing musicians and a proper meet and greet. I also made some new good friends that day, so I'd definitely say that it was a well-spent night.
Also, kudos to the promoters, @Deep_Insight on twitter, for bringing This Wild Life to Indonesia and scheming a perfectly managed show!
